About the role

We are currently recruiting for 2 trained Debt Caseworkers to join our team. The main purpose of this role is to deliver multi-channel debt advice and casework to clients within our community utilising innovative tools. Citizens Advice SORT has an established and growing reputation as an organisation utilising technology to help and improve a caseworker with their administrative burden, from Caddy and CaseNote (our case note automation), to utilising open banking, creating debt chat bot and document analysis tool. This role will give you the opportunity to directly feed in to these developments and help change the way debt advice is delivered and recorded in the future.

The role will be hybrid working, supporting clients referred from other teams within our Citizens Advice as well as our partner organisations. Appointments will largely be done remotely (working from home or our central Manchester office) as well as some face to face advice within Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale or Trafford (this will likely be one or two appointments a week).

Both Full Time and Part Time is available and our salary band is £25,542 to £28,953, depending on experience.

Key Skills we are looking for:

- Fully trained MaPS Accredited Caseworker (or working towards completing) able to provide comprehensive debt support to clients

- Good understanding of welfare benefits

- Strong numeracy skills

- Ability to engage skilfully with clients who may be vulnerable or distressed

- Experience of working in a busy environment with excellent organisation to prioritise workload

- Understanding of working towards achieving targets individually and as a strong team player

- Effective oral and written communication skills

- Interest in innovation and willingness to test and feedback on new tools
